    More than just food

My husband and I had been to Hanoi before so we weren’t completely new to the city and we did already have a good grasp on Vietnamese cuisine, but having been given the chance to do the tour on the back of our trip to Halong Bay we said why not. How happy we were that we did in the end! The tour itself is more like hanging out with a local friend and going to their favorite haunts- a real insider’s view. We made such wonderful connections with our guide who really knew her way around, and was so open to discussing Vietnamese culture, history, politics… Highlight was the stop at the ‘oldest cafe in Hanoi’. Wonderful insight into our time in Vietnam.

Amazing way to see the city

The dishes weren’t new to us, but the quality and flavour was a cut above what we had before in other places. Super fresh.. Super flavorful… More importantly to me though was the chance to feel as though you were really a part of Hanoi, just like a local for a while. We went through all the back streets of the Old Quarter, places I never would have found on my own which is what makes this tour so great! Gotta be the least touristy tour in the world huh!

Highlight of our time in Hanoi

Food lovers, beer lovers, Vietnam lovers in general… I would recommend this tour to anyone who considers themselves one of the aforementioned. The tour took a couple hours all together and was literally jam packed with as much as physically possible in that time. Too bad for me I pigged out on the dried beef salad at our first stop and was way way WAY too full by the end of the whole thing… but that’s a happy problem I guess haha.

    Best choice for solo travellers

Hey everybody, thanks for reading. I did this tour as a single person as I was visiting Hanoi solo for business. As you can imagine I was wondering if the experience would go down so well on my own, so I was happily surprised by the outcome. My tour guide was tons of fun and really energetic and talkative so the whole thing was really great. Apart from the wonderful food the best part was getting to spend some quality time with someone who really knows their stuff in Hanoi. Highly recommend to anyone travelling on their own like me.

    Best bang for your buck

This street food tour is full of awesome food and great places to see in the Hanoi Old Quarter, but the most notable thing about it is really the price because you get so much done and tonnes of food/beer/other drinks for such a great price!!! Best part for me was the egg coffee which I had never heard of before but the cool thing was the guide told us the story behind it about how milk used to be hard to come by in Vietnam so egg was used instead… Taste took a second to get used to but then was rich and creamy flavors, must try for coffee lovers!
